LP Ancient Greek App Reviews

Excellent app!

After trying many manual parsing methods and being through many apps Ive came to this wonderful tool, maybe the best one there is to studying greek verbs and names inflexion. There is a minor point in which I think it misses: its not possible to type the answers, which would be great if not the parsing (that would make studying a burden, which it the disadvantage of other methods, from which LP benefits, in its being simple and quick), at least it would be so when giving the asked verb. Another interesting option would be to select the category to be studied. So if I tend to confuse certain tenses, for example, I would be able to make a studying session on them. Lastly, Id also suggest making an explanation on the basics of the app, explaining how it deals with verbes that can be parsed it more then a way, if the levels progress automatically, &c. Clearly none of this spoils the usefullness of the app. Id say only writing the verbs asked would make a really considerable difference, by enabling the user to acquiring an active competence besides the passive one that the app already guarantees. As I said, my opinion is that this is already the best tool to learning greek inflexion there is!

Very helpful!

As a beginner, this proved an incredibly valuable tool when studying for tests

Simple and Effective

If you are looking for an app that goes beyond vocabulary to parsing, then this is the one. Simple to use and beautiful to look at.

I quite like it

Useful tool to memorize vocabulary and forms. More colors and a swifter evolution from one level to the other would be very much appreciated.

Great Work!

Thats an Great App to study! Even in Universitylevel

Perfect. Godsend.

Absolute perfection. Simple layout. Simple to use. Comprehensive in scope. The perfect Greek grammar app for drilling and expanding your knowledge. Thank you guys so much. Hope you get the purchasers you deserve.

Principle parts

Great app. A principle part section to review regular and irregular principle parts would be great!

Excellent for learning vocab.

Only quibble is that I would like to be able to choose vocab lists that match a particular textbook.

Very useful app

Brilliant app to study Ancient Greek. Thanks for the developers

Must-Have App for Quick Learning and Reviewing

Im a Classics major and enrolled in an intensive Ancient Greek beginning course. We move really fast, and this app helps me keep up with the material. I love the ability to be able to quiz myself over the noun and verb paradigms. I also have the LP Latin, and its also amazing with reviewing especially verbs. I recommend this and the Latin app for students who are struggling or would like a fun, alternative way to review paradigms. Writing out the paradigms is boring. Trust me. I know. I wish I knew about the app when I was learning Latin. This app definitely helps me keep up with the intensive course pace.

Fantastic app for practicing Greek on the go

Clear, well-organized, excellent overall. Im learning Attic Greek with Mastonardes text, but use this app to practice when Im on the go. I highly recommend it.

I am seriously in LOVE with this app!

This app is extremely useful in my studying and reviewing of Ancient Greek. Honestly I cant think of any improvements save one, make this same exact app again but for Biblical Hebrew please please please! There isnt any app like this for modern and Biblical Hebrew verbs parsing that is remotely as polished as this one and I promise my Greek/Hebrew class and I will definitely buy it because we know how effective this app is for our Greek.

Conjugations are no good!

I picked this app out because of the reviews, & because other Ancient Greek apps have been slammed for their various inaccuracies. Unfortunately, in spite of a valiant attempt, this app falls short as well. I have repeatedly come across instances in which the verb conjugations differ from those given in Athenaze I & II, enough Ive become very leery of trusting the various conjugations. If Im going to pick an authoritative source, Athenaze wins out over an iPhone app. Just sad there isnt anything out there up to par to help those learning this language!

σὺν Ἀθηνᾷ καὶ χεῖρα κίνει

This app is best used in conjunction with Smyths Greek Grammar as well as a course book of your choice. Im using Pharrs Homeric Greek but you could just a easily use an Attic or Koine textbook. The app itself works very well within its limitations.

Ten Words at a Time?

This app only lets you drill with ten words at a time. Its overall word bank is extensive, but being limited to just a few at a time on any given level severely compromises any pedagogical merit. For those of us who are already familiar with Greek and just want to review, this app lacks the utility of, say, a pack of flash cards.

Very good for a solid intro-vocabulary

Learning vocabulary with liberation philology is pretty fun, but would be great if there was some sort of sync (icloud would be preferable) between devices. Its also nice that the app is fairly often updated.

Great app!

Love this app. Great vocab lists!

Pilios

This app is great. It has helped me so much.

Perfect for maintenance

I use the vocab section of this app on the train to and from my white collar job to keep my mind wrapped around Greek. Ive found the structure of this app to be not just a refresher but also instructional in its vocab grouping choices. It helps me learn to understand intuitively how prefixes and roots work together to create new meaning. Highly recommended for students and amateurs alike.

Extremely helpful!

Marvelous, marvelous app for those trying to make stick in our memories the myriad Greek verb/noun/etc forms. A great help. Thank you for making this!!
